Cameroon is maybe less known as a hunting area as some other African countries in spite of the great variety of game species, some of which can be found or hunted in no other country now.
You will find there some "magic" game species such as the Central African giant eland (Lord Derby's eland), forest elephant, bongo, forest sitatunga, dwarf buffalo, yellow backed duiker, korrigum, etc...

The hunting in Cameroon has a "double face" : savannah and forest, each with its own fauna, own atmosphere, own preferential hunting periods - and own prices.

Generally speaking fitness is necessary for all hunting in Cameroon, as it is done on foot:
- no shooting from cars
- no sitting in trees or in blinds at waterholes
- no hunting with dogs,
but tracking lion or buffalo in the pristine bush or hunting elephant and bongo in primeval forest is an experience you cannot find in many countries. Hunting lion by calling is an unique experience for most even seasoned sportsmen.
